Foundation Fellowship and Scholarship Applications – Due 4/14 and 4/22

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation (Foundation) is funding aNutrition in Food Retail Program Development (NFRPD) Fellow. This a one-year opportunity and will fund an RDN member of the Academy to participate full-time in the Foundation’s new program titled, “Leveraging RDNs in the Food Retail Environment to Improve Public Health.” The food retail space presents a tremendous opportunity for RDNs to improve public health by meeting consumers where they are on a regular basis and, importantly, where they are making food decisions. The NFRPD Fellow will oversee and execute phase 1 of this program, which will include:A review and analysis of the retail environment and existing researchCreation of an advisory group of expertsThe development of a model or multiple models that are financially feasible as well as scalable and meet the needs of consumers and retailers The fellow will work closely with the Foundation; the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Research, International, and Scientific Affairs team; and an expert advisory group to accomplish the goals of the fellowship and program. The fellowship begins on or around June 3, 2019. Interested candidates should apply by completing the online application, including submitting a tailored letter of interest and resume by 11:59 pm CT on Sunday, April 14, 2019.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2019-2020 academic year. Scholarships are available for students at all levels of study, including undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs, dietetic internships, and NDTR programs. Scholarships range from $500 to $10,000 each. Last year, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation awarded $534,670 to 234 deserving students. 

The scholarship application is available within the Foundation’s newly revised application portal. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 22, at 11:59 pm (Central Time). Scholarship recipients will be notified in July 2019.
